"do`h... I hate it when that happens. When I do a con these days I usually plan it out about half a year in advance... book the hotel even before the convention rates are announced and have them rebill me under rates when they are posted. I like conventions that take place in a Hotel over convention centers (exception to rule is if they are joined in some fashion, like Anime Central). Anyway, you will have a blast at the convention. "
